✨ Legal & Policy 🐾
1. Service Agreement
By booking a service with Katshopau, clients agree to the outlined terms and conditions. A full service agreement will be provided upon confirmation of booking.
2. Liability
We are not liable for any illness, injury, or death of your pet while in our care, except in cases of proven negligence.
3. Pet Health & Behaviour
Owners must disclose any medical conditions, behaviour issues, or special needs before service. Katshopau reserves the right to refuse service if a pet poses a safety risk. We do a compulsory "Meet and Greet" session between our sitters and all pets to mitigate as many risks as possible
4. Emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency, we will attempt to contact the owner immediately through the provided contact details. If unreachable, we reserve the right to seek veterinary care at the owner's expense.
5. Payment & Cancellation
Payment is due prior to or at the start of the service period. Cancellations made within 1 day of the start date may incur a cancellation fee of 50%, deducted from the original payment.
6. Key Handling
Client keys will be securely stored. Return of keys outside of a scheduled visit may incur an additional fee. We would prefer owners to leave their keys within the premises or drop them off to us the day before.
7. Privacy Policy
Client information (including keys, addresses, contact details, and pet information) will be kept confidential and used solely for providing agreed-upon services.
8. Photography Release
We love sharing photos of happy pets! With client consent, Katshopau may take photos of pets for use on our website and social media. No personal client information will be shared. You are welcome to opt out of this service.
9. Home Access & Security
Katshopau is not responsible for any burglary or property damage during the service period unless there is clear evidence of negligence on our part. Clients are encouraged to notify their home insurance provider if needed.
10. Outdoor Access
If a client requests that a cat be allowed outdoors (e.g., free-roaming or backyard access), Katshopau is not responsible for the cat’s safety once it leaves the home or designated safe area.
11. Third-Party Visitors
If anyone else (housekeepers, friends, family) will be entering the home during the service period, Katshopau is not liable for any damages, loss, or incidents during overlapping access.
12. Adverse Weather Policy
In extreme weather conditions (e.g., floods, snowstorms, hurricanes), we will make every reasonable effort to fulfil visits but reserve the right to adjust timing or cancel if it is unsafe. Clients should have an emergency contact available. We are not responsible for failure to perform services due to events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions, accidents).
13. Aggressive or Dangerous Animals
We reserve the right to terminate services immediately if a pet demonstrates aggressive behaviour that puts the sitter or others at risk. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
14. Special Instructions
Clients must provide clear written instructions for feeding, medication, and care. We are not liable for adverse outcomes resulting from incomplete or unclear instructions.
Privacy Policy
Squarespace (“Squarespace,” “we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. When it comes to your personal information, we believe in transparency. That’s why we’ve set out here what personal information we collect, what we do with it and your choices and rights.
By using or accessing any of our sites, templates, products, applications, tools, services and features (collectively, the "Services"), you confirm you have agreed to the Terms of Service and have read and understood this Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy. The Squarespace entity that controls your information depends on where you are located. See Section 12 below.
You can find out about your rights and choices in Section 6 below. We’ve also included at the end of this Privacy Policy some region-specific supplemental information if you are located in: (i) California; or (ii) a U.S. state (other than California) with an applicable data privacy law.
For clarity, we use different defined terms in this Privacy Policy to refer to the different parties who interact with our Services:

We also use different terms in this Privacy Policy to differentiate between our roles under global data privacy laws with respect to the personal information we process:
“Squarespace Controlled Information” is personal information for which Squarespace acts as the “data controller” (or similar term under applicable law) and determines the purposes and means of processing. This includes information about our Users and Customers. We also act as an independent data controller for personal information relating to End Users which we automatically receive (including via cookies or similar tracking technology) when an End User visits a site hosted on our Services (such as the End User’s IP address) when we process it for our own purposes, including to foster the security and integrity of our Services.
“Customer Controlled Information” is personal information for which a Customer acts as the “data controller” (or similar term under applicable law) and determines the purposes and means of processing. This includes any personal information included in the content uploaded by a Customer to our Services for display on their site, a Customer’s domain registration contact information and all information about a Customer’s End Users (including information provided by an End User to a Customer via a webform on the Customer’s site as well as information automatically received (including via cookies or similar tracking technology) when an End User visits the Customer’s site).
We explain below how we collect and use Squarespace Controlled Information and your rights. If you are an End User of one of our Customers’ sites: (a) read below to learn about how we collect and use your Site Usage Information (as described in Section 2 below); and (b) you should read that Customer’s site’s privacy policy to find out more about how they use and otherwise process Customer Controlled Information about you.
